Aerial History of Gulf Shore Manor

1941 Aerial View.  Can you find CR 395? Can you find where land was cleared in GSM?  The headlands of Western Lake is the tree-lined artery running parallel to the Gulf.

Hint, GSM is where the sandy road running east to west is curved.

1949.  Seaside, the large open book shaped cleared area, and Sea Highlands just west of GSM are cleared. Lot lines are evident in GSM and so are sandy paths to the beach. CR 395 and 30A appear paved.

1956.  Old Seagrove is starting to take shape around CR 395.

1972.  Seaside is starting to take shape.  Can you find San Juan Avenue? It is just east of Sea Highlands and north of 30A.

1985.  Gulf Shore Manor is growing. A portion of Bellwood and Elm Street are developed. The first beachfront home built in 1978 just east of Barcelona is visible.

1990.  Numerous roads are developed in GSM.  Bellwood, Elm and Chelsey Lane. The Beacons condominiums have been built west of the San Juan access.

1994. Homes are all built in the beachfront subdivisions of Paradise Too on the western border, Beacons, Oceanside and Sea Walk. The rest of GSM is growing as well.

1999.  The beachfront subdivision of Jasmine Dune on the eastern border of GSM has its first homes. The forest path that leads to Nature Walk at the north end of San Juan Avenue has been cleared.

The subdivisions of Grove By the Sea which is west of GSM and Sugarwood are starting to take shape.

2015.  Nature Walk to the north of GSM is developed and Watercolor to the north of Western Lake is nearing completion.
